Winners Contest
Our Winners Contests
are an unique system to run a contest over multiple different sort of games. As you are used from us, all relevant information is shown on the board.
The example shown here, is a contest that runs every 4 hours, of that 4 hours, still 1 hour and 19 minutes remain. The current pot is L$11087, but that will grow with each game played.
The contest started with a pot of L$3000 and adds 2% of every amount played on the games.
The person on top of the score has 256000 points. If he is still at the top rank at the end of the contest he will win 27% of the pot, 27% from the current pot is L$2994.
Each time you play a game, you will see your score grow with the sum of the amount you paid plus the amount you won. Thus if you play L$50 and win L$100 with it, you gain 150 points.
The higher your rank at the end of the contest, the bigger the slice of the total pot you win. Only the top 15 players win an amount.
Winners contests can get very high pots. It are contests, not a reward system giving you x% or your buy in. Winners Contests give you a shot at trying to get much more out of it.
Strategy
* Fine-tune how much you play and when. On the example above, if the player at the second rank plays games costing L$100, she will most likely not close the gap between her and the one at the first place. Even when she wins twice as much as she plays, she needs hundreds of games, within 1 hour and 19 minutes. However if she plays L$1000 games on a X50 machine, 2 wins and she is there.
* Be around at the end of the contest. If the example above was near the end, the number 9 on the contest would have enough at playing a L$1 game to win L$56 more than she would win otherwise.
* You can also defend your spot AFK. They who might try to conquer your spot might give it a second thought when your avatar is in the region, because you could play to defend it. While you have a beer in your garden, leaving your avatar stand here might do the trick.
* Low spots can give an awesome margin. When players at the top spots play a lot, the pots for the lower spots increase too. Surely on Cleopatra Games and the Factory we see players who pick their piece of the pie very easily.
* Spread your play. E.g. number 3 on the example above, suppose she has no intention of playing large to conquer the second spot, she also might have not much to fear from the one at the 4th spot. Getting 3rd with a whole lot more points as number 4, or with only a few, it is still getting 3rd.
